10 Things you should be buying at Poundland

Anyone who watches Emma's monthly vlog and blog on What is awesome at Poundland will know that Poundland can have a host of awesome items. For those that haven't then you really should check them out. More people need to check out and get some of these items from their local Poundland, meaning you would be asking the question why do I always buy this for a lot more at a supermarket when Poundland has it?

Toiletries

Big named products are nearly always in Poundland on the toiletries aisles. Anyone that reads Emma's blog or seen her YouTube channel will know and have seen that there are new big named brands every month, some big named brands remain their each month. I will buy my razors whenever I need a new set, and most my shampoos. body gel and deodorant are all from Poundland, don't have to pay the big money to look and smell good.

Batteries

So many things need batteries as such they are on nearly every household shopping list. Why pay around £5 for a pack of 8 AA sized batteries when you can get a pack of 16 AA batteries for a £1? They might be a different company but batteries will often have a similar lifespan, so perfect for your remote controls. I say remote controls as that is one of the most used items in our house that needs batteries and we have 5 of them!

Notebooks

Emma and I both love our notebooks, they are used everyday in our house. We have notebooks for lists, several different ones for work, meal planning, and the list continues. We don't like just plain boring ones though, that you can get for similar or cheaper. We prefer to buy designed ones so that they stand out and can be easily seen as the notebook for which ever duty it has like, blog work or meal planning. Poundland has many great looking designs that we enjoy and use.

Makeup

I will admit it that I do not know much about makeup, I do know that it can be scary to see the prices of some of them at times though! Emma does know her makeup though and loves to see which brands are in Poundland each month, they are a staple of her ‘whats awesome in Poundland' blog and vlog. It can be whilst stocks last though at times with makeup as they can alter from month to month with which brands will be in.

Cleaning products

Arghh a reminder that I am a grown up and often need to clean! Seriously though Poundland has a host of cleaning products available ranging from the big brands that are always in to the lesser known brands. All of which offer similar results, so is a great place to stock up on any cleaning products. Emma has a weakness for the microfiber cloths that you can get from Poundland, some of which can be quite cute though.

Drinks

Would you get a bottle of coke or pepsi when it is full price or would you wait until it is on offer? No need to do any waiting as Poundland have the bottles all the time, at the same price you would often buy them on offer at or cheaper. Great place to grab a few as a treat or as a supply of mixers for a party. Emma and I have also been able to find Robinsons Squash'd 66ml, which was perfect as we were flying out on holiday and used it to flavour our bottles of water on the plane.

Sweets

You thought I would not mention the sweets and other treats then you was wrong! I have a sweet tooth after all. You can let your child, wife or man-child pick without worrying that they will pick something that will break your wallet/purse wide open. The sweet section is easily one of the larger sections with a great range of sweets and many big brands.

You can even get American sweets like Nerds, and not those smaller boxes either that are a £1 elsewhere. The larger box, that is easily three times the size for a £1, score! £2.50 elsewhere.

Vacuum bags

Until I started going out with Emma, I had no idea vacuum bags even existed or how useful they were. Want to get more into a bag then first put them into a vacuum bag and suck all the air out of it, it shrinks! Want to store away clothes without them taking up too much room, well put them in a vacuum bag, it can then sit nicely in the bottom of a wardrobe or drawer awaiting the right season or the next holiday.

Seriously don't know how I got by without them when travelling before, you seriously need to grab some at Poundland.

Pet treats & toys

We LOVE our cats, sometimes maybe a little too much. They are seriously spoiled at times and it is often a struggle to not walk out of Poundland with more treats and toys for them. The toys especially can be found in pet shops with often £2-3 more than Poundland's price! Which makes it a lot more bank healthy to spoil our girls with toys they will play with for around 5 minutes and then play with a bit of screwed up paper that missed the bin!

Seasonal & holidays

Poundland has some great ranges of items that will be released for the seasons, holidays and events, such as Christmas, Easter and Halloween. Many of these items I have only ever seen at Poundland. Regardless these are great ways to enter the season cheaper or do a celebration cheaper, and as such are well worth checking out.
