Looking For A Cheaper Way To Get Around? A Motorbike Is A Great Investment

Are you a slave to your car? Are you sick of the seemingly endless repair and maintenance costs? Does the skyrocketing price of fuel make running your trusty steed an increasingly untenable prospect. When you dedicate yourself to being thrifty in everything from your grocery shopping to your nights out, car running costs are a particularly thorny issue. You need a vehicle in order to get to work. It’s too far to realistically cycle to work and it would take hours to get there on public transportation. But as your car gets older, it appears to be more and more trouble than it’s worth, but at the same time you know that your budget won’t allow you to upgrade to something new. It’s an understandable quandary but one that can be solved by two possibly unexpected words… Motor. Cycle.

You maybe haven’t ridden a motorcycle since your rebellious teenage years and probably either don’t consider it age appropriate or suitable for a family man or ambitious professional. However, there are many reasons why a motorbike is a great investment…

But aren’t motorbikes unsafe?

It’s honestly tricky to answer that question. Yes, the statistics state that motorcycle users get into more accidents than car drivers and since a motorbike doesn’t have an airbag or any of the safety systems we take for granted in modern car. Of course, if you’re made to fall from your bike as a result of another road user’s negligence you should visit to claim compensation. http://emrochandkilduff.com/fredericksburg/motorcycle-accident-lawyer/. Nonetheless, there are many seasoned motorcyclists who insist that motorbikes are actually safer than cars. Motorcyclists have better range of vision than car drivers as they’re able to turn their heads and have a view of the road that’s unimpeded by car parts. If you can get over your safety concerns, there are many cost advantages to owning a motorcycle…

Motorbikes are cheaper than cars

Motorcycles see the same sort of fluctuation in price as cars do. But unlike their four wheeled counterparts, motorcycles have a much lower ceiling placed on their upfront costs than cars. While a new Harley Davidson will always cost more than a used Kawasaki, the fact remains that on the whole, motorcycles represent a fraction of the upfront cost of cars.

They’re cheaper to run too

Motorbikes require less servicing and maintenance than cars. The great thing about motorbikes is that many enthusiasts choose to do all their own repairs and maintenance, because they belong to a supportive community of motorcyclists (both online and -as the cool kids say-IRL) who are always on hand with help advice and YouTube tutorials. Thus, budget wrecking maintenance costs become a thing of the past. Motorcycles cost much less to insure, too.

They use much less fuel

In an era where petrol costs show no signs of slowing (and we still don’t know if or how they’ll be affected by Brexit) the thrifty Dad knows that if he rocks up to work on his motorbike he’ll use a lot less fuel.

And they look awesome!

Let’s face it, a big part of what makes motorbikes so appealing is their cool factor. Showing up to work on your new steed will turn heads and get tongues wagging (no-they won’t think you’re going through a midlife crisis). You won’t have to drive around for hours looking for a parking spot either.
