February has come and is now gone again. It just flew by, almost feel that it has only been a couple of weeks yet it has been nearly four weeks long, then again months are always zooming by when you are busy. Anyway let us get down to the results from the goals I set at the start of February. For anyone who hasn't read my previous post February goals & January results, for my aims and goals for the month, my aims and goals are continued and expanded upon from January 2017 Challenges.
£100 household budget
We have smashed our budget goal this month with £25 left over from out budget!
I am positive that the cats are out to bankrupt us! Ever since they had some RSPCA cat food that Emma had received they have refused to eat cheaper cat food, so we had to buy them more expensive Go Cat. We even tried mixing the cheap food in with Go Cat, which worked originally, until we came to a bowl with all the Go Cat eaten, the cheap cat food remaining and a meowing cat wanting more Go Cat.
We are incredibly happy with the result this month and is something that we are going to be moving over to the following months.
Decluttering
We have not actually focused to much on our decluttering in February.
Though we have sold a lot of our carboot boxes at a local auction rather than waiting for the weather to improve, which is decluttering right?
Overall we know that we want to continue decluttering but we are not going to be as focused on it in the future.
Improving our health
I will be honest and say due to how busy we became that walking and exercising didn't feature highly on our list of things to do. We had even planned out days in which we would go to the gym that we then had to plan anew simple down to the fact things took a lot longer than we had originally intended.
Since we have also had to visit Chester, having a house guest and it has also been Emma's birthday this month, we have ended up having a large amount of meals out or takeaways. Not great for our health really.
There is seriously not enough time in the day. March is going to be the time I will use the gym to it's fullest, whilst hoping most have given up with their resolutions to make it not crowded.
House to Home
Our home is simply looking amazing.
Having a cleaner has been amazing, as I mentioned at the start of the month it has encouraged us to be tidier and has helped us take our minds off of having to do a lot of cleaning and focusing more instead on our work. Having our first house guest as well really helped us to get up and go to make everywhere look amazing (after all they needed a tour).
We aim to do a house tour for either my own, Emma's or both of our Youtube channels, sometime soon.
The Blog
I am still a little (or is it majorly?) disorganized and can never seem to get ahead of my blog posts, but I have managed to maintain doing a blog post a week, and my post about making a chicken stretch seems to be one of my most popular posts to date.
Moving forward I really want to be able to get ahead with my posts and write them faster, I can spend a few hours writing a blog post (doesn't help that I get distracted by things on the internet!). I also need to check my emails a lot more than I currently do, as I am so terrible with checking them. Might be a little hard though since I will be really tempted by new computer games like Horizon Zero Dawn or playing the new factions for Total War Warhammer.
Reselling
Anyone that follows our reselling instagram stories has seen how amazing the selling room looks now after Emma had a sort out and change around in there.
We have been doing a lot of buying stock for reselling. We tried out selling some of our unwanted and carboot items at our local auction and it has gone amazingly, £38 and £11.20 , from two auctions! Sure we might have gotten more money selling each item individually at a carboot sale but it would have taken a lot more time and effort (and to be honest we needed the space). With the auction we also started to buy a boxes of items and pick out those items we want for eBay, those items that wouldn't do well we put back into the auction. So far this has worked really well, with only a few boxes not selling that we chose to donate to charity afterwards.
Using auctions is definitely something we aim to continue doing since it is incredibly easy to pick up a lot of items cheaply and to then sell on any that wouldn't sell well online. Though we still love our charity shop and carboot wanderings, since after all verity is the spice of life and you never know what you will spot.
Youtube
I have started my branching out into youtube with my channel as some of you might have seen with my reselling haul and how I meal plan videos. I currently have an amazing 19 subscribers, I know doesn't sound much but from small beginnings.
With the reselling haul videos Emma and I will be sharing them between our youtube channels.
Emma's birthday
Emma has had a great birthday, which makes me feel happy that she has enjoyed it, though I know she is really missing the sun and I can't blame her. Last year we was in Florida for her birthday but if the last few days of February are anything to go by then the sun is returning, Praise the Sun! Anyone that played Dark Souls will know, I just couldn't resist myself.
