Dating during the ease of lockdown

AD – This is a collaborative post

Countries around the world are currently easing off on their lockdown restrictions. Causing a wave of relief for the majority of people wanting a return to normality. One of those normal things is of course dating, which with the fear of a return wave of coronavirus will have to change in ways some might not have thought.

The outbreak of the coronavirus caused a panic for many people around the world and had forced many governments to not only do travel lockdowns and put into place social distancing rules but to also shut down non essential stores and places of work to put nations on as big an isolation as possible.

The UK has been in lockdown since the 23rd March, with it now being halfway through June that means we have been in lockdown for nearly 90 days. This has sure put a strain on many people's relationships from those married to those who are only dating.

So what does dating look like for the future?

To my knowledge then no dating site, such as nostringsdating, does a dedicated video chat function between its members. Only messaging in the forms of direct and instant messaging for the majority of sites, with some only favouring direct messaging.

I personally believe that some sites will be adopting an internal video chat function for their sites. This would not only set them apart from their rivals but add an extra layer of security for their members.

This will allow members to have a greater degree of personality matching, easier to get to know each other at the start and also reduce the effect of people catfishing other members.

Many an adult dating site will most likely have many eager singles rushing to join the dating scene again.

What to do for Video Dates

Now many people will have opened the doors of video calls to see family and friends during the lockdowns. A few others will have been using it for imaginative dating.

You can be as creative and interesting as you would like to be, as after all it doesn't just have to be about facing each other talking.

Here are a few suggestions

Cooking Date

The lockdown means that there can be no regular dates, as after all one of the staples of a date is a restaurant.

Can't do that when they are closed and with lockdown rules can't really visit each others homes either.

So why not do some cooking together during a video date. Many couples love to cook together and have a lot of fun doing so. You can arrange on if you want to share and teach a recipe you both like beforehand, or find something else to cook for the first time.

Either way it can be a lot of fun and a way to bond.

Film Date

Cinema's are also a staple of normal dating, but once again closed due to lockdown.

However many of the latest films are heading straight to streaming devices, and most of us will use at least one of these. If not then you can pick up a free trial.

You can even go all out and get some popcorn ready.

Now a full film might not be either of you thing. So why not pick a TV program from a streaming service you have or are trialing?

The important thing will be that you are spending the time to enjoy each others company and bonding.
