Could You Be Sitting on a Large Sum of Money? It’s More Likely Than You Think

Did you know that over the course of a year, most people accumulate loads of trash and items that they never use again? From bad Christmas presents to unwanted birthday gifts, or even accidental purchases or electronics that we used a handful of times then left, most people end up with plenty of stuff that they simply don’t need. However, this could mean that you’re sitting on a large sum of money that you don’t even know about.

In addition, there are situations people could have gotten themselves into that could ultimately award them with cash if acted upon. For instance, this could be a benefit claim that you forgot or it could be an accident that you never told your insurance company about.

In this article, we’ll be showing a couple of situations in which you could be sitting on a large sum of money that you’ve forgotten or don’t know about.

Auctioning Your Items

Selling on eBay or even a local classified directory is a great way to make a bit of extra money on the side, but it could also potentially be a goldmine. This is because many people are sitting on old antiques and collectables and they’re unsure of their value. A good example of this is old collectable cards. Whether it’s a baseball card collection that your parents have stored away or Pokémon cards that your kids no longer want, there’s potential in the piles of junk and clutter that you have. If you have electronics, then you might be able to get quite a bit of money by selling them to collectors or as hand-me-downs. In fact, even broken electronics have quite a bit of representation because they can be used for spare parts.

Claims and Benefits

From contacting your insurance company about an old injury to speaking with TengeLaw.com about an auto accident you were recently involved in, keep in mind that there are many claims and benefits that you could turn into a large sum of money. Make sure you act on insurance and accident claims as soon as possible to give yourself enough time to make the full claim. Speak with insurance companies, and make sure you look for the right lawyers to help. In addition, you may also be entitled to money from government schemes or refunds from stores.

Forgotten Gift Cards

Gift cards are common presents, but the downside is that you often find yourself spending more just to get the value out of them. This occasionally means that we’re left with a gift card that is forgotten because the store is either far away or because we want to save it for a future purchase. Rummage through your wallet to look for forgotten gift cards or even store cards that have points left on it. You’ll be surprised at just how much extra money you could be sitting on if you’ve recently had a birthday or celebrated some kind of event.
