All Work & No Play: Finding Frugal Outdoor Fun For You

All Work & No Play: Finding Frugal Outdoor Fun For You

Dad’s are often the unsung heroes of parenting. With mum having spent a long time pregnant and commonly dealing with a lot of the daily tasks which come with a kid, it can be easy for the other half of this relationship to go ignored. Of course, this isn’t so bad, as you do what you do out of love; not for recognition. This doesn’t mean that you can’t reward yourself, though, and this post is going to be exploring some of the best ways to do it. With all of this in mind, you should be feeling excited about the prospect of enjoying some frugal fun.

Camping: Having the chance to spend some time out in the wilderness is something which a lot of dads will like the sound of. Camping with a group of friends tends to be very different from doing it with the family, giving you the chance to let your hair down, while also catching up with people who you probably haven’t seen for a while. As one of the best features of this sort of idea, it will always be extremely cheap, with most of the tools and resources you need being ones which can be borrowed.

Experience Days: Over the last few years, experience days have been growing in popularity. With some which give you the chance to drive a supercar, and others which will have you taking photos of wildlife, there is truly something for everyone when it comes to this side of the market. This will be a little more expensive than going for a camping trip, but will often offer great value for money, with a whole day spent doing something which you’ll never forget.

Motorcycles: Spending time on the open road is something which a lot of people never get the chance to do. There are a lot of garages out there holding pre-owned motorcycle inventory, though, and this gives you the chance to get yourself out there without spending anywhere near the amount you’d need to drop to buy something new. Of course, this option is an investment, as it will give you something to do when you have spare time in the future, too.

Paintball: Finally, as the last option on this list, it’s time to think about a fantasy situation which a lot of dad’s will only dream about; going to war with your pals. Paintball has seen a huge spike in popularity over the last few years. This trend has made prices go down dramatically, making it much easier to justify going for an activity like this. You only need a handful of friends to make this fun, and there are loads of places to go and do it, making it perfect for those with busy lifestyles who want to vent some of their parental stress.

With all of this in mind, you should be feeling ready to get started on finding some outdoor fun to enjoy when you get some time away from the kids. A lot of parents ignore this side of their life, simply throwing themselves into raising their children. Of course, though, while you need to be a dedicated parent, there’s no need to break your back in the process.
