4 Ways To Save Money Shopping Online

The invention of the internet has opened up a whole host of opportunity to make savings in your weekly shopping bill. There are so many websites and stores competing for your custom that prices can be extremely competitive, if you take the time to search. Everyone loves a bargain and finding one can be easier than you think.

Food shopping

If you are hoping to save money on your weekly food bill you have many options available. Firstly, consider writing a weekly menu plan. A menu plan will mean you’re more likely to stick within your budget, as you will only purchase the ingredients required for your menu. Shopping online means that you won’t be as enticed into buying strategically placed items readily found in stores.

Choose the supermarket you shop online with carefully. There’s a lot of snobbery around stores and brands and some premium supermarkets charge premium prices for exactly the same products. Most stores have a savers or basics range, where huge savings can be made, try them and you may be surprised by the quality.

When completing your online shop take a look at the the items that are on offer and try to complete a lot of your shop using these promotional items. If it helps, write your meal plan at the same time as completing your online shop and design your meals around the offers available.

Finally choose supermarket own brands rather than premium brands. Your first online shop is likely to take time, however as the weeks go buy you will have a ready made shopping list saved that you can go to and choose your weekly regular items.

Cashback sites

Cashback websites pay you when you click through them to buy items from stores and supermarkets. Used effectively it’s possible to make £100’s on an annual basis.

You will need to register with the cashback site and search to see if the store you want to buy from is listed. If it is, click on the trackable link via the cashback site in order to qualify for rewards. Using cashback sites for your online shopping may also give you the opportunity to enter prize draws. Some prize draws offer the opportunity to win £500!

Discount codes

Everytime you checkout online and spot a box entitled promo or discount code, search online to see what codes are available. You may make substantial savings by finding codes that entitle you to free delivery or a certain percentage off. There are many voucher code websites available which list current offers and deals a google search will reveal them.

Product search

If you have a particular item that you wish to buy, don’t just purchase it from the first shop you see has stock. Search for the product on google and click on the shopping tab. The search will reveal all stores that stock the item and at what price. You will then be able to order the product online for the cheapest price available.

Hopefully by following these tips you will have more cash in your pocket to enjoy!
