Mercari is a buying and selling app for smartphones that allows you to buy and sell items from other people across the UK.
What is Mercari?
Mercari is a mobile app that allows people to buy and sell securely to each other.
The company have a wonderful aim that I can really get behind in that they want society to become less of a throwaway society. Something that I am sure a lot of thrifty people can get behind.
It isn't as extensive as eBay with the amount of items you can buy but there is still quite a verity to choose from, which is important as a buyer. Another bonus is that the postage is free, so the price of the item is the price you will pay, no worries or fuss over shipping costs.
One of the things Mercari claim is that you can sell in seconds, listing an item in 40 seconds. Listing an item on Mercari is actually incredibly simple, needing a photo, description, category, condition and price. From what I have seen so far as well items do go pretty fast, though Mercari will tell you the better the photos and description then the quicker the item will sell.
Emma managed to sell 29 items in the first day that she was using it!
You will have to make sure that you cover your shipping costs within the price of the item. After all there are no postage charges.
There are no fees for using Mercari, a brilliant bonus for anyone that wants to sell their unwanted items or do a little reselling. It is advised to post the item you have sold as quickly as possible, 3 working days. Once the buyer has confirmed that the item has arrived and there are not issues, you will be paid into your balance. Your balance can then be paid directly into your bank account, meaning no PayPal fees.
Currently you cannot send or buy anything internationally with Mercari.
Mercari offer discounts and credits for being better buyers and sellers. This is a great intensive for many to use and continue using the app for both buying and selling, as the credit and discounts you will receive will end up saving you money.
